Home Sweet Home

Alexis took her 1st trip to Metamora this
past weekend. I was a little nervous about
the drive but she did great! She slept almost
the whole time. She met a bunch of the
family for the 1st time, enjoyed her 1st
Easter egg hunt, saw Grandma & Grandpa's
new house and had fun hanging
out with the family! Here are some
pictures from the day!!

Sleep-- oh how I've missed you!!

I tried to catch some smiles this morning when Alexis woke up cooing and smiling after sleeping for 10 hours!! Mom & Dad finally both got a good nights sleep! We went to bed at 11:30 last night when Alexis did expecting to be woken up in a couple of hours and were shocked when she woke us up at 9:30 this morning! She must have been worn out from a big day of shopping yesterday with Lolo and Tita (aunt) Kristine.

Reading her book

She's even cute when she's sleeping

Shopping yesterday enjoying the sunshine!

from last weekend when Grandma came to visit

Trying out her new highchair

So comfy she fell asleep

Tito Alex and Tita Priscilla sent Alexis a Tummy Tub and she loves it! It's a very cool little plastic tub to bathe her where she stays warm and feels safe. It's supposed to resemble the womb and help transition little one's to a bath tub. It sits on a little stool to raise it and when she gets older she can use the stool on its own. Bathtime is so much easier when she isn't crying!!

I swear I see curls when her hair gets wet! I'll try to get a picture of them next time. Maybe she will get my curls!

Lazy Lexi

I caught some smiles on camera!! They are from a couple of days ago I just found on the camera. Grandma, Grandpa & Great Grandma came to visit yesterday and she wouldn't show them how she can smile so I want to post these for proof! She has been smiling all day today, that is when she isn't sleeping! Today is a lazy Sunday for Lexi. She surprised me by sleeping through the night last night!! I couldn't believe it! I laid her down multiple times between 10 and midnight and she kept waking up. As soon as I held her she fell back asleep! She has figured out I will pick her up and then goes back to sleep. So at midnight I was exhausted from a long day and no sleep from Friday night, so I swaddled her super tight with her arms down-- she looked like a little burrito :) She screamed while I did it but then I picked her up, marched around the room for a couple of minutes and sang her favorite song (I made it up shortly after she was born) and she was sound asleep. I laid her in her bassinet and jumped in bed. I couldn't believe it when I woke up this morning to her cooing and looked at the clock-- it was 8 am!! She slept through the night for 8 hours!! 6 hours was her previous record for the longest time sleeping but it was during the day. It's amazing what 8 hours of interrupted sleep can do! I've already done 2 loads of laundry and got the dishwasher running. She's already on her 3rd nap for the day. It's going to be a lazy day for Lexi and a great day for me to get things done around the house!

Back to her smiles :)

and a yawn :0

Lookin' cute with her headband on!

Here's some pictures from yesterday
I guess we didn't get any of Grandpa

These are from today... Lexi lounging in her bouncy seat

What mom? I can't hear you...

Ok... I'm looking at the camera

Enough pictures... I'm trying to sleep!

Zzzzzzzz....

7 weeks

Today Alexis is 7 weeks, 1 day old!! I can't believe how fast she is growing! I already miss holding her when she was so little. She doesn't even like to lay on my shoulder anymore :(

She is smiling all the time now and starting to hold her head up really well (although she was holding her head up the day she was born!)

Here are some pictures from Wednesday when it was beautiful outside. We took her downtown Naperville for a stroll. We stopped for some sushi for lunch -- I'm so excited I can finally eat it again :)

Then we walked around some of the shops and then the riverwalk.

We forgot to take her sunglasses so we had to try them on when we got home -- isn't she a little diva?!

Then after a long day she enjoyed (not really) a nice bath! Thanks Ricky & Ruta for the cute robe! :)
