4 months

Alexis turned 4 months old today!!
She had a well baby check-up this morning and here are her stats:

Weight: 14 pounds, 6 ounces
Length: 24 3/4 inches

She is in the 70th percentile for both weight and length!! She is getting to be such a chunky little monkey! Her little thighs are the cutest with the rolls. She is reaching all the milestones she is supposed to.... like laughing, grabbing for objects, holding her head up and putting her hands together. Everything she grabs goes in her mouth, of course. And she loves to suck on her fingers, usually 3 or 4 at a time. This morning we found her on her stomach when she woke up from a nap.... this was the first time she has rolled over from her back to her stomach. We got the green light from the doctor to start solids! I'm a little nervous because I don't know what I'm doing but I'm sure Alexis will do great since she has always been a good little eater!

Shake, Rattle & ROLL!!!

So it's been over a week since my last post.... not much is going on here in the Mogul house. I'm ready to quit my job :) It has brought so much stress back in my life. I love my days off when I can just take care of Alexis and do things around the house. I cleaned the house today and did laundry and I actually liked doing it! I have been looking online for a new job... maybe in an office where I wouldn't have to work such long hours and no weekends or holidays. We'll see.... I think I might be dreaming!!

One exciting thing happened last week... Alexis rolled over!! I had just gotten home from work and was playing with her while she was doing tummy time. All of a sudden she rolled onto her back. I was so shocked and excited.... and proud of her! I don't know when babies are supposed to roll over but, of course, Albert & I think she is advanced :) I put her back on her tummy and she rolled over again. We did this over and over and Albert even got it on video. I will try and post it sometime but I'm having trouble getting videos to download on here for some reason.

Anyone know how to slow the time down?? I cannot believe how big my baby is! She doesn't even feel like a baby when I hold her anymore. She is becoming such a sweet little girl... I love her so much!! Going to work in the mornings is sooo hard and I'm so sad when I come home and she is already sleeping. She always looks so cute and peacefully when she is sleeping though. Although I work 12 hour shifts, I am actually gone for almost 14 hours! I feel like I am missing so much of her growing up. I'm already afraid I'm going to miss all her "firsts".... like the first time she rolls over, first time she crawls, walks, and says her first word.... I savour the time we do spend together. I love when she first wakes up in the morning or from a nap... she is always smiling so big and looks so happy to see me! It melts my heart! I love listening to her coos, grunts, squeals & giggles. We have a routine that seems to be working very well. She has been waking up in the mornings around 5:30am (after going to bed around 8), gets her diaper changed, eats and then goes to sleep for another 3 hours. She has been sleeping through the night for over a month now and it is wonderful!! We have been putting her down to sleep on her side as she sleeps the best this way. She eats about every 3 hours and naps every 2-3 hours. She has been getting a little fussy when she is tired, which is new for her, and likes to be rocked to sleep. I secretly kind of like it because she is so cuddly during these times :) I hum her favorite song and she goes right to sleep. She hasn't been to the doctor since she turned 2 months so I am getting curious how much she weighs and how long she is. She has outgrown her 0-3 month sleepers and even the 3-6 month ones are getting short in the legs. I put a 6 month one on tonight after her bath and it was even snug on her toes! She loves being held so she can see what is going on and is constantly moving her arms and legs like she is ready to run! She loves grabbing onto her toys (and anything else that gets in her reach) and putting them in her mouth. Her friend Maggie is her new favorite toy-- Alexis loves to chew on her and play with her hair. She still loves to suck on her fists. She has found her thumb only a couple of times but enjoys her fingers too, and even tries to eat her whole hand sometimes!


This weekend is the first time since going back that I'm working 2 days in a row. It's going to be hard! I better get some sleep!! Here are some recent pictures of my little angel! I'm so sad to work on Sunday-- my first mother's day as a mom and I won't get to see my little girl :(

I came home from work Wednesday night after a super long day, totally exhausted, hating work and just wanting to spend time with my family. I was so bummed that Alexis was already sleeping. Albert showed me a video he took from the day and it put a huge smile on my face. I tried to post it but it's not working. Albert amazes me by how much he can get done while I'm at work and he is with Alexis. He cleans the house, does dishes, laundry, and finds time to go grocery shopping. Wednesday night he was cooking steaks on the grill when I got home from work! He is such a wonderful husband and father!! I feel so lucky to have him!! Ok... enough of the mushy stuff :) I will try to post the video again later!!
