3 months... officially!

I didn't think I'd be able to post anything tonight but when I got home from work tonight Alexis was already sleeping! She was sleeping when I left this morning so I didn't get to see her at all :(
Daddy and Lolo took her shopping for her 3 month birthday today. Here are a few pictures from their day!

3 months

I can't believe Alexis will be 3 months old tomorrow!!!

My first day back to work was on Sunday :( It was a tough day but not as bad as I imagined it might be. She was still sleeping when I left for work and ended up sleeping for 12 hours that night. My work day was super busy so that definitely helped me get through the day, but I did call Albert at least 3 times to check in on how she was doing. And Albert called me a couple of times just to let me know things were ok :) I took a photo album to show everyone at work so it helped to get to look at her pictures but also made me miss her! I couldn't get home fast enough! I ran in the house, showered, held her and rocked her to sleep. The smile on her face when she first saw me melted my heart! I have really gotten used to staying home this past 3 months and would love to be a stay-at-home mom.... maybe someday!!

Alexis has been doing great! She is holding her head up well, eating great and growing like crazy! When she sits in her bouncy seat or swing she is constantly trying to sit up straight. I started having to buckle her in because I'm afraid she is going to fling herself out. She's also started to become very vocal... she squeals when I leave the room just to let me know she is still there-- it's so cute. And she loves to make noises and "talk." She has been sleeping through the night for the past 3 weeks. She sleeps anywhere from 7 to 12 hours straight every night. It feels so good to get sleep again!

I have to work tomorrow so I told Albert to take some 3 month pictures... and I'll post them soon!

Texas

We just got back from a vacation to Texas to visit friends and attend a wedding. I was nervous about flying with Alexis but she did great! She didn't cry once! She even slept the entire ride back yesterday. The weather was a little colder than I expected and it rained, well more like poured the day of the wedding, but overall it was a great trip. We visited with a lot of Albert's family and friends he hasn't seen in a long time. It was a nice little getaway before I have to go back to work :(

"this is what cute looks like"

Alexis is 10 weeks old today!!

She has slept through the night the past 3 nights! Each night she has slept for 8 hours and after she has woken up every morning, she gets her diaper changed, drinks her bottle and then goes back to sleep for another 3 hours!! It has been great!

Tonight I tried to do a little photo shoot of her in some dresses to see which ones fit. We are going to Texas next week for a wedding and I'm hoping to take a few dresses since the weather will be warm... hopefully! She only made it through 2 dresses before she decided she was done posing :) I couldn't even get a smile out of her!

Here's some pictures from last week... the ones I had trouble downloading on last weeks post. The weather was beautiful so we went on a little stroll around a park near Albert's parents house in Streamwood.

9 weeks

Alexis went for her 2 month check-up on Tuesday. Here's her stats:

Weight: 11 lbs, 6 1/2 ounces (65th percentile)
Length: 22 1/2 inches (55th percentile)

She is growing so fast! She's in size 1 diapers, fitting into most of her 3 month clothing, smiling all the time, growing too big for her bassinet, loves laying on the changing table and looking around, falls asleep on car rides, enjoys riding in her stroller, is starting to grab onto things and put them in her mouth, loves sucking on her hand although she hasn't quite figured out how to put her thumb in there, turns from her back onto her side, and is sleeping more at nighttime... woo hoo!!

I've been trying to post some pictures from the past couple of days as we have been enjoying the beautiful 80 degree weather but it's not working... will try again tomorrow!!
