girls night out

Alexis and I had a fun evening. Since we had no food in the house, we decided to go out to eat for dinner... instead of going to the grocery store :) We went to Buona Beef and then took a trip to Target to look around. $125 later, we left with a cart full of bags and a happy little girl!

She enjoyed her first hot dog and the yummy fruit that came with it!
She even snitched a few pieces of my favorite bbq chicken pizza!

Trying on her new sunglasses!

She said "baby" for the first time tonight! I realized recently that she didn't have a doll to play with so I let her pick one out tonight... and she loves it! It is so cute to see her hug, pat the baby on the back and feed her a bottle! She's going to be a wonderful big sister!

Last time she was at Grandma & Grandpa's house, she loved playing with a toy tractor there so I got her a little car and dump truck to push around and play with.

Drinking her milk before bed with all her friends!

Spring Fever

It was a little cool and windy out but we were determined to enjoy the mid-60 degree weather today! Alexis loves playing outside and we are ready for spring to be here!

We went to the outdoor mall in Oakbrook and walked off our delicious lunch at Cheesecake Factory!! Alexis enjoyed watching all the people and walking around the stores.

She doesn't like staying in her stroller long, so before long she was up and wandering everywhere!

But before long she was ready for a break......

with a little Starbucks!!

Weekend fun

Grandma & Grandpa came to visit this weekend and Alexis had fun playing, shopping and going out to eat!! Here are just a couple pictures!

It didn't take her long to warm up! She loved playing with her blocks with Grandpa and getting pushed around the house in her Cozy Coupe car!

Out for lunch at Olive Garden

Fun day with daddy

It was a beautiful day today..... the temperature was up in the mid 50's!! Unfortunately I had to work and miss the fun, but Albert and Alexis seemed to have a blast! It was so fun looking at the pictures and videos when I got home tonight so I thought I would share a few...

Looks like she loved her 1st "storytime" at the library too!!

What's new???

Wow-- it's been almost a month since my last post!! What's new with us? Well... Alexis is growing and changing so much everyday. She turned 13 months yesterday! She runs everywhere she goes and even adds a little hop in there every once in a while! At her 12 month appointment, the doctor suggested transitioning her from bottles to sippy cups by her next appointment at 15 months. She drinks water and juice from the sippy cups and is doing great! The hard part, for me anyway, is going to be getting rid of the bottle at nap and bedtime. The other thing the doctor wanted us to do was start brushing her teeth. We are just starting with that one :)

So, at 13 months, Alexis:

***likes to listen to music and LOVES to dance!!
***says "hi" all the time... other words include: hey, mama, uh-oh and up
***is still eating some baby food, but prefers table food. Some of her favorites are Ritz crackers, cheese, spaghetti, fruit & although she only had a few sips, she loves chocolate milkshakes!
***can crawl up on the couch and get down all by herself
***Skypes almost everyday
***is finally getting teeth!! She has 4 on top and 2 on the bottom.
***likes watching Yo Gabba Gabba and the weather... she stops what she is doing everytime to watch the weather
***is getting better at getting dressed and diaper changes but they still aren't her favorite
***can drink from a straw and loves to do so
***takes only 1 nap a day (usually 1-2 hours long) and sleeps 11-12 hours every night
***is terrified of her crib... i see a "big girl bed" in her near future!

I'm really going to try to keep up with the blog better, not only to keep family and friends updated on what Alexis is up to, but also to "document" her milestones (kind of like a baby book) and compare with our next baby.... which is going to be sooner than later!! We are soooo excited to announce that Alexis is going to be a big sister! And that she is going to have a baby brother!!! The little guy is expected to arrive mid-August! I am also very excited to have a summer baby!

Enough writing... here are some pictures! Alexis and I traveled back home 2 weekends ago to celebrate her Great Grandma Mona's 80th birthday!! Only a few of the pictures turned out, so here they are:

Here are some from today. The only thing that seems to help her teething pain is to suck on her fingers or ice. I put ice in her mesh food thing and she loves it!

It is so hard to get good pictures because she is moving around so much so I thought maybe I could get a couple cute ones while she ate dinner. Everytime I would count "1.. 2... 3...." she would pose and make a face!

Happy and clapping after eating a big dinner!

All done with dinner... and pictures!!
