We are ready for some WARM weather!!!

It's finally feeling like Spring!  Today the temperature got up in the 50's and we were so excited to get outside and get a little sun!  Good thing, because we are all starting to go a little crazy stuck in the house!  It's already the end of March and there is still snow in the forecast though :(  Andrew is crazier than ever and I think Alexis is getting tired of the same routine everyday.  One good thing is that she is becoming more and more independent and can play by herself... for a short time.  They often play together but quickly it leads to fighting, yelling and often crying-- usually by Alexis because Andrew hurts her.  He has become very aggressive and downright mean sometimes.  He thinks it's funny to hit her on the head and run full speed right into her and knock her down.  He's always climbing up on chairs and tables and jumping everywhere-- I have at least 5 mini heart attacks a day.  Alexis never hits or hurts him back though.  She just stands there while he attacks her and cries until I come save her.  Hopefully this is just a "stage" and he grows out of it soon!

About 2 weeks ago, we took down Andrew's crib and got a full size bed for him.  He would no longer sleep in the crib and we got into the habit of sleeping with him.  Not what I wanted, at all, but when you're desperate for sleep, you'll do anything.  I do, at least.  Now I can't wait until they will both sleep all night by themselves.... however, I don't think that'll happen anytime soon!!

Alexis is still obsessed with birthday cakes.  She found some candles tonight, "made a cake" in her kitchen and sang Happy Birthday to herself and her baby for over an hour tonight.  She finally got to ride the bike she got for her birthday today since the weather was nice.  It was her 1st time on a big bike and she loved it!  She also loved her helmet which I was a little worried about.

Andrew still loves to imitate Alexis and copy everything she does.  This includes wearing dresses, mommy's shoes and wearing jewelry.  He does love to push his cars, trucks and tractors around the house too.  His new favorite thing is to line them all up!

I am way behind on posting pictures so I have some here that are probably a month old!

Chocolate makes her soooo happy!!

Andrew loved playing out in the snow... mostly just eating it but he could have stayed out in it for hours.  Alexis watched at the window crying because she wanted to come out but refused to put on a snowsuit and coat!

They do love each other!!

Somebody didn't want to let Grandma take a nap!

watching movies with Papa

He loves pockets!!

Don't let this sweet little girl fool you!  She gets crazy too ;)

trying on mommy's new clothes and shoes!

He was so proud!

She loved riding her bike up and down the sidewalk.  She's definitely going to have fun this summer!

Grandma Mona

Just when I thought Alexis was almost asleep tonight, she suddenly rolled over and sat up.  I thought she was going to ask about the loud wind outside.

Alexis:  Where's Grandma Mona?!?
Me:  She's laying in her bed sleeping.
Alexis:  By herself?  (we had just been talking about how she is a big girl and can sleep by herself)
Me:  Yes.
Alexis:  Is she sad?
Me:  She might be a little sad.
Alexis:  I wanna lay with her so she doesn't get scared.

And then she rolled over and went to sleep.

whatever makes her happy

Alexis wanted to learn how to fold so I showed her how to fold a washcloth.  She caught on pretty quick and she loved it!  For the next couple of hours, she went to different parts of the house and folded washcloths!  She was so proud of herself!!

She reminded me of some of my patient's I've taken care of  at the hospital with Alzheimer's.  We would give them towels to fold to keep them busy.... works for little ones too :)
