Seventeen Weeks

How far along?: 17 weeks, 2 days
Total weight gain: 4 lbs
How big is baby?: average size 5 inches, 5 oz
Maternity clothes?: Mostly just jeans, but some of my shirts are starting to get tight around the belly
Stretch marks?: None yet
Best moment this week? Seeing my little one today at the doctor's office! When I told her I fell 2 1/2 weeks ago, she said she would reassure me everything is fine by showing me on the ultrasound... and she was right! I didn't get great pictures this time but loved seeing him on the screen. I think he was waving to me :)
Movement?: No, not yet... I can't wait to feel something
Food cravings?: Not many cravings lately... I usually feel really hungry at meals but end up feeling full very fast. I don't think I'm eating as much as I should.
Labor signs?:No, thank goodness.
Belly button in or out?: In
What I miss: Sleeping through the night without having to get up 2-3 times to pee
What I'm looking forward to: Going back home this weekend with Albert to see family and friends! Not sure if I'm excited for my 10 year class reunion or not...
Milestone: Your baby's skeleton is changing from soft cartilage to bone, and the umbilical cord — her lifeline to the placenta — is growing stronger and thicker. Your baby weighs 5 ounces now (about as much as a turnip), and she's around 5 inches long from head to bottom. She can move her joints, and her sweat glands are starting to develop.

My 1st Trip to Urgent Care

So Saturday Albert and I went to his parents house in Streamwood to visit with his mom, since she was in town and to help his dad remodel their bathroom. I spent most of the day eating yummy food and lounging on the couch. What a nice relaxing weekend! That all changed when I was walking down the stairs... and all of a sudden WHAM!... my feet flew out from underneath me and I went straight down landing on my butt and sliding down a few more stairs! Ouch!! I tried my hardest not to start crying when Albert and his parents came running-- must have been loud! Immediately my butt started hurting. I slowly got up saying, "I'm ok." After resting a little bit, we ventured out to a friend of ours' birthday party. It didn't take me long to realize I could not sit down without being in horrible pain. As soon as we got home that night, I got out my doppler and checked the heartbeat of the baby. What a great sound to hear!! I didn't get much sleep that night thinking about everything and being in excruciating pain everytime my tailbone brushed against the bed. My sternum (breastbone) was also beginning to hurt... A LOT! So on Sunday, I had the OB doctor on call paged and told her what happened. She didn't seem very concerned about the baby and said right now it is very well protected in my pelvis. So I just layed on the couch all day Sunday and decided there was no way I could work on Monday. Yesterday, I could barely lift my right leg up to walk up the stairs (I literally had to pick it up and put it on the step), my tailbone was still hurting a lot and I could feel a "flapping" (not a medical term) in my chest. As soon as Albert got home from work, I made him take me to the Urgent Care Center just to make sure there wasn't anything serious going on besides a few bruises. After getting checked out, the doctor (who I know from work... glad to know he has seen my butt now) said I either have a fractured or bruised tailbone -- the only way to know for sure would be to do an x-ray which can't be done b/c of the baby, a strained groin and a separated rib near my sternum. No wonder I'm in so much pain! But I am so glad it's nothing more serious.... nothing that time won't heal. So, as I am here typing, I am sitting on a boppy... thanks Christina for the suggestion- it's working great! My first purchase for the baby is actually for me!

15 Weeks!!!

Baby's now the size of a naval orange! Continuing the march toward normal proportions, baby's legs now out-measure his arms. And, finally, all four limbs have functional joints. Your fetus is squirming and wiggling like crazy down in the womb, though you probably can't feel the movements just yet.

How far along
: 15 weeks today

Total weight gain/loss: +/- 0 lbs (as of my last doctors appointment 2 weeks ago)

Maternity clothes: I had to go out and buy maternity jeans... I didn't like the be band very much

Stretch marks: None (and I hope it stays that way)

Sleep: Can't seem to get comfortable

Best moment this week: hearing the heartbeat (again) with the doppler at home

Movement: Maybe too early but think I may have felt a few flutters?

Food cravings: Thin Mint blizzard from Dairy Queen

Gender: Too soon to tell... and my next ultrasound isn't until the end of September

What I miss: Sushi and being able to sleep on my stomach

What I am looking forward to: a big belly

Weekly Wisdom: No more sleeping on my back :(

Milestones: making it this far and feeling good!! (except for falling down the stairs over the weekend and being in pain from that but as far as the pregnancy goes-- feeling great!)

Baby on the way!!!

Since it's been almost 2 months since the last post, I thought I would update you all with some exciting news!! You might already know this, but we are finally ready to share it with the world-- we are going to have a baby!!!

Here's the ultrasound pictures at 9 weeks along... looks like a little gummy bear with teeny arms and legs! And it was already moving around like crazy! We saw and heard the heartbeat going strong at 187!
***if you are having a hard time seeing Baby Mogul, just click on the picture and you can see it bigger***

These are the ultrasound pictures from my appointment at 13 weeks (just this past Monday)
It's already growing sooo fast! This time he/she wouldn't stay still long enough to capture the heartbeat. However, the night before my appointment I brought home a doppler from work and found the heartbeat.. it was 154 this time and so cool to hear it!!

Here's my first "belly pic!" Just a little bump so far but just enough to make my jeans very uncomfortable around the waist. I can't wait to have a huge belly!

Albert couldn't pass up the fun either... here's his 13 week belly pic!! :)

So we are super excited for the future! I can't wait to start looking at cribs, carseats, clothes and all the fun stuff! We want to find out the sex, but probably won't know until the next ultrasound at my 21 week appointment, which isn't until September. The due date is February 2, 2010!

Now that I have something to write about, I promise to keep this updated and post more frequently! Hope everyone is doing well!
