10 Months

Whoa! Alexis is 10 months old today!! It is so crazy to think she is almost a year old already! I cannot believe it!

At 10 months old, Alexis:

***loves to dance. Nelly is her favorite.

***is still toothless... but not for long. Yesterday (while I was digging some paper out of her mouth) I felt a little something on her bottom gums for the first time. I can't see anything but there's definitely something there. Plus, she's been drooling more lately too.

***is eating both table food and baby food but prefers to eat what she can pick up and feed herself

***can stand up for over a minute without holding on to anything.... and clap & dance at the same time! She walks around holding onto furniure and moves from one piece of furniture to the next.

***loves to splash in the bathtub

***imitates sounds, faces & and movements

***still says dadadada mostly. Sometimes yea and hey, but mama only once and it was probably me just thinking she said it!

***dislikes getting in her carseat very much

***is wearing size 3 diapers and 12-18 month clothes.

***drinks between 24-28 ounces of formula every day and loves drinking water from her sippy cup

***takes 2 naps daily anywhere between 45 minutes to 3 hours... the longer one is usually in the afternoon

***raises her arms up over her head when asked, "How big is Alexis?"

***waves goodbye

***understands the word NO, but doesn't obey

I guess this list could go on and on.... I was hoping to post some pictures but I'm having problems with the laptop I'm on so I will try again later, which will probably be in a couple of days....

Funny Faces

little lady

Alexis is 9 1/2 months old and becoming more and more of a little girl and less and less of my little bitty baby she once was. I cherish our time together when I'm rocking her to sleep and cuddling with her. She is warm blooded like her daddy and is so nice to snuggle up to when it's cold. Although she loves to eat, in the last few days, she has been refusing to eat her pureed baby food and will only eat food that she can pick up and eat herself. So... the little stinker has been getting little pieces of cut-up avacado, banana, toast, waffles, chicken, cheese, rice & pasta in addition to her cheerios and puffs. Her eczema is looking better although the doctor said it will get worse this winter due to the cold, dry weather :( We have a humidifier going all the time are constantly putting her lotions on and hopefully it won't get too bad. She has still been waking up in the night usually around 2- 3 times every night itching. I feel so bad for her! For the most part, she is a happy little girl... always smiling, singing, clapping & cruising around the house with her new toy. A few things she doesn't like are: getting her diaper changed, getting dressed, getting in her carseat & riding in elevators.

Daddy just finished installing the safety locks on all of the kitchen cabinets....

...but look who figured out how to get in!! What do we do now??

we went to Clark's looking for ourselves and ended up buying shoes for her because they we so cute! they even measured her feet... and she sat so still the whole time!

maybe she'll be a cashier at a grocery store like her mom, cousin & great grandma once were! i remember when i was little, after we got home from shopping, i would "scan" all the food before i put it away :)

She won't eat her baby food... but loves leaves!!

We played outside today since the weather was so nice!!

Alexis loved playing in the grass but her favorite part was trying to eat the leaves!

While I was making dinner, she pushed the bumbo around the kitchen floor for over 2o minutes... anything to keep her entertained!

Earlier in the week, we took a little trip to Wisconsin to visit some friends. It was a great time! Albert went to an NBA game while Alexis and I enjoyed some girl time with a great friend!

9 month stats

Alexis had her 9 month check-up with the doctor on Tuesday and she is right on track with her milestones... and even a little ahead for some!

Weight: 19 pounds, 3 ounces

Length: 28 1/4 inches

Next appointment: not until she turns 12 months!!!
