girls lunch

We went to Metamora on Saturday to meet all the girls for our annual girls lunch get-together.  We dropped Albert and Andrew off at Grandpa's house, picked up Grandma and met up with Aunt Kathy, Dawn, Erin, Daphne, AnMarie, Sam, Bonnie and Grandma Mona!  I didn't get a picture of us at lunch because Alexis was extremely shy when we got there.... so much that she buried her face in my chest for the first 20 minutes.  I scarfed down my food as soon as she finally sat in her own chair.  Yum-- I miss that sweet bread!  

After we were done eating Alexis had fun throwing pennies into the fountain with Bonnie!

We went to Grandma & Grandpa's house afterwards and Alexis warmed up quickly and

had a blast playing with her cousins!

Alexis woke up from her nap today and immediately wanted to put a dress on.

Here's the one she picked.  It's actually a shirt but it's a little big so it could pass as a dress.  She refused to wear the pants that go with it. 

She's saying "all gone!"  I gave Andrew some puffs when he woke up and Alexis ate them all!

She finally looked at the camera but still wouldn't smile.

I caught Andrew hunting around the kitchen floor looking for puffs or crackers or whatever he could find that he threw off his highchair earlier in the day.  Much to his disappointment, I had already cleaned up the kitchen!

Alexis found some fruit snacks!

She tried to hide under the table so Andrew couldn't get to them....

                                        

but it wasn't long before he came racing in to grab them!

Yes, she's wearing 2 tutu's!  She found them and wanted to wear both of them!

I looked back at the blog and she wore the black one when she was 8 months old!

 I can't believe it still fits! 

First Kiss

Andrew has been doing a lot of new things lately.  He can say "dadadada" and "babababa." He is very vocal and loves to scream if he runs out of food and is still hungry!  He is eating more and loves to try new things.  Recently he has tried stuffing, chicken, grilled cheese, baked beans and grapes... and he has loved them all!  I usually just stop feeding him when I think he's had enough, otherwise I think he would sit in his highchair and eat for hours.  Of all the new things he's doing, today he did something that made me so happy! He gave me a kiss!!  Usually when I go in for a kiss I get a finger in my eye or a pinch on the nose but today he opened his mouth and gave me a big wet one :)  It's the same way Alexis used to give kisses too!

Last week we took them for a ride around the neighborhood in the wagon.
It was Drew's first time and he really liked it!

Alexis didn't last too long before she wanted to pull him.

That was hard work Mom!  I need some ice cream!!

Alexis took the diapers out of the box and insisted I put Andrew inside

so she could push him around the kitchen.

8 months old already!

Andrew will be 8 months old tomorrow! 

He is crawling everywhere now and into everything!

He's always looking for something to climb UP on.

He loves to follow Alexis around and gets sad when he's left in a room alone.

He eats everything in sight! 

He dislikes getting his diaper changed and laying on his back.

He sleeps around 10 hours every night and likes to sleep on his tummy.

He's wearing size 12 & 18 months clothes.
I've been teaching him "milk," "more," and "all done" in sign 

language since he turned 6 months and he just started started to sign milk a

couple of days ago.

He was working so hard he had to take a break....

Alexis has really been into wearing hats and dresses lately.  She found some new bikini bottoms I bought her and apparently thought they were a hat!

Grandma's birthday visit

We knew Grandma and Papa were coming to visit this weekend but they surprised us and came on Friday.  Alexis was so happy and had so much fun playing with them.  As always, they brought gifts for Alexis and Andrew.  They each got new clothes and Alexis got a new coloring book, stickers and crayons!  I think her favorite was a matching set of pajamas for her and her baby.  She thinks they are dresses!  One of her favorite things right now is to dance so she loved wearing her "dress" and dancing around the house.    

Grandma's birthday is coming up in a couple of days so we went out to celebrate.  She wanted lobster so we went to Red Lobster!
