pumpkin farm

As soon as everyone woke up yesterday, we got ready and went to Johansen Farms in Bolingbrook.  When we left the house it was 48 degrees.  After 2 hours it was already well above 70 degrees!  It turned out to be a beautiful day and the kids loved it!

1st stop was the lambs and horses!

They loved looking at the baby chicks.  Poor little things were cold!

We felt like we had the place to ourselves!  Andrew loved running free!

This was definitely their favorite part!  They didn't want to come out!

Whoa!!!

1st hayrack ride for the kids

They wouldn't look at the camera for anything!!

Andrew was having fun....

He has to taste everything!

Finally posing and smiling for the camera... great picture Alexis!!

Drew found the one he wanted!

Soaking up the sun before it's gone!

We've had a busy but really FUN week!  We are trying to take advantage of the beautiful weather before it gets cold!  It's starting to get cold at night but gets pretty warm during the day still.  This week we've played outside a lot, gone to the zoo and park, had a play date at our house, went to a pumpkin farm and visited some friends with a new baby!!

A couple of nights ago we were playing outside and Andrew found a bug on the sidewalk and stared at it for a long time!  He just looked and looked.  He acted like he wanted to touch it but got scared every time he got close.

We went to the zoo in Aurora with Christina and Brayden!

The kids had so much fun together walking around and looking at the animals and playing in the park!

Alexis and Andrew love Aunt Christina!  Alexis wanted to hold Christina's hand almost the whole time while we walked around.  Andrew didn't get to come this time but he barely let us leave because he wanted Christina to hold him!

Best friends holding hands... so cute!!

Alexis had a lot of fun playing with Brayden's cars when he came over and she wanted some too!  So we took a trip to Target and she picked out her own cars to play with "like Brayden's cars."

Today we went to a pumpkin farm!  They had lots of farm animals, bounce houses, apple cider donuts and pumpkins!  We went on a hay rack ride and a train ride.  We took so many pictures that I'm going to do the next blog post with lots of pictures!

We ended the day visiting some friends who have a new baby!  He turned 1 month old today!  So cute and cuddly!

Weekend in Metamora

Last weekend I took the kids on a trip back to Metamora.  From our new house, it only took us an hour and a half to get down and 1 hour and 45 minutes to get home.  Andrew slept both ways and Alexis watched Finding Nemo on the way and slept on the way home.  They were exhausted from a fun weekend!  Alexis loved playing with her "friends" aka cousins.  She was the most outgoing I've seen her and it was great to see her play and not hang on my leg like previous times.  Andrew wasn't a bit shy and greeted everyone with a growl and wanted everyone to hold him!  He loved watching his older cousins and even learned some new things!  We got to see Erin's new house, play at Grandma and Papa's and enjoy good food and company at Aunt Dawn's!  Alexis got to play at the park with Papa and even got to push him on the swing.  When we were getting ready to leave, the kids were in the car and we were saying our goodbyes.  Alexis yelled out, "Bye Mona!" to Great Grandma Mona.  It was so cute!!

Andrew helping himself to a cookie!

Playing tea party at Grandma and Papa's... everyone was sitting nice until I came over to get a picture and then they all started to move!

couldn't get a smile out of Aaden

checking to see what his buddy Tyler was doing

trying to hang with the big boys

I wish I had taken more pictures but it was hard when I was chasing after them... well, really only Andrew.  I'm beginning to find out how different boys and girls are :)
