6 months

Alexis turned 6 months yesterday and had her check up at the doctor's office today! Unfortunately she got her 1st cold a couple of days ago :( and she's been a little clingy and not as smiley as her normal self. Her runny nose may even be related to teething, the doctor said. Except for screaming, kicking and crying when I have to suction out her nose, she is doing fairly well. The 2 shots (one in each thigh) she got today didn't help much either so I cuddled with her most of the day and we both took a 3 hour nap this afternoon!

Fun at the Park

This morning we decided to take a walk to a park to play and enjoy
some time outside before the rain comes!

Skinnamarinky Dinky Dink, Skinnamarinky Do

Time is really flying by-- I know I say that all the time, but I can't believe how fast Alexis is growing! She is already 5 1/2 months old and learning new things everyday! She is now sitting up with very little assistance. And while in her crib today, I watched her scoot herself on her tummy from one side to the other-- this is the first time I've seen her doing any type of crawling. She loves listening to music and my singing-- out of tune and all :) Her favorite song for awhile has been "skinnamarinky dinky dink." She smiles and laughs throughout the whole thing. She still loves to eat and has now tried bananas and sweet potatoes-- so far she likes the sweet potatoes best. She now wants to hold the spoon when she eats and it gets everywhere! On the scale at Grandma & Grandpa's last weekend, she weighed about 16 1/2 pounds!

Right now she loves to explore.... and touch everything.... including the person's face that is holding her. She touches my eyes and nose, pulls on my ears and hair and even puts her fingers in my mouth! And she still has a love for her feet and sucks on her toes regularly. We go through about 6 bibs a day because she is a drool machine!

When she is in her saucer or crib and is ready get out, she will hold her hands out to be picked up... she is so smart!! I love it when I get home from work and go to see her and she puts her arms out to me and snuggles up to me when I pick her up!!

One last exciting thing going on in our lives.... our townhouse is officially on the market as of today. We have been thinking about trying to sell it for awhile and we finally decided to just go ahead and try and see what happens. So.... I guess we'll just see what happens :)

Summer Lovin'

So it's been awhile since my last post... Alexis is growing faster than ever!! I can't believe she is already 5 months old! She is always moving... gone are the days we just sit and cuddle :( But it is so fun playing with her. She isn't quite sitting up on her own, but I think it'll happen very soon. She doesn't seem interested in crawling yet though. As soon as I lay her down on her back, she immediately flips over onto her tummy. She loves to squeal and giggle. All of her clothes now are either 6 months or 6-9 months. As for diapers, she is now in size 3-- we ran out of size 2 and decided just to go up to the next size since they start at 16 pounds and I'm sure she is very close to that, if not more. She is drinking between 5-7 ounces of formula every 3-4 hours and eats about a tablespoon of cereal everyday. We haven't started fruits or veggies yet.... but will be soon! She always wants to eat or drink whatever Albert or I have. She reaches for everything and puts everything in her mouth! She also loves to drop her toys on the floor over and over again-- and thinks it's so funny! She has slept in her crib the past 3 nights and it's going very well... for her, that is. I still get up 3-4 times through the night just to check on her. It was so nice having her right next to our bed in her pack 'n play so I could just peek to make sure she was ok. I'm doing better now though, although I have contimplated buying a video monitor :) She is still sleeping wonderfully!! She hasn't woken up in the middle of the night since the very first time she slept through the night, which was when she was 2 months old. I am so thankful for this--- I do love my sleep!!

We are loving summer!! Here are some pics from our trip to the pool today! She has been to a different pool with Daddy a couple of times but this is the first time she has actually gotten in the water.

As soon as we got there, we put on her swimsuit and she was not a happy camper!!

We had so much fun! We will definitely do this again soon!!
