Almost 2 weeks ago, we took a family vacation to Pensacola, Florida! We wanted to get away, spend some time as a family and celebrate our 5 year anniversary somewhere fun. We had talked about going back to Hawaii every 5 years but since that couldn't happen, we looked for a white sandy beach a little closer. Pensacola Beach it was!!!
We loaded the limo early that morning for our ride to the airport.
They were so excited to ride on an airplane but they thought the limo was pretty cool too!
They both did great on the plane.... just had to keep them busy!
We couldn't find a non-stop flight so we got a lot of practice with the whole process. We flew to Atlanta (1.5 hrs), switched planes and flew into Pensacola (45min). It broke up the time so it actually wasn't too bad. Besides a little ear pain while landing a couple times and our delay on they way home, our overall experience flying was great!
They loved the wings the pilot gave them!
Albert was the only one that slept during the actual flight. I have some anxiety flying so my hands were gripped to the handrails on the way up and down each time. Every time we landed I looked over at the kids, with my bravest face, and Andrew was sleeping every time!
We made it!!
This was the pool at our hotel complete with 2 hot tubs and a lazy river!
There was a bridge right after the pool that took us to this little piece of PARADISE!!!
It was exactly what I had pictured in my head.... a truly beautiful place!
We put on our suits and headed straight to the beach!!
Andrew was more into playing in the sand and Alexis loved running into the ocean!!
Our days consisted of: breakfast, pool, lunch, nap, beach, pool, dinner, bed..... and repeated for 5 days!
The hotel was awesome and very kid-friendly. They had a different schedule of activities every day for the kids to do including a pirate show, scavenger hunt, hula hoops, face painting and mermaid. And the best part-- the kids ate free!!
There's a LOT more pictures to come!!!
